LAKE CHARLES, La. (June 15, 2009) -- Freddie Harrison threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns -- two to Marcus Wilridge -- as the Louisiana Swashbucklers erased a 16-point first-half deficit to beat the Austin Turfcats 60-43 in a Southern Indoor Football League first-place matchup Monday night.
The Swashbucklers (7-1) turned a 30-14 deficit into a 37-36 halftime lead, then held the Turfcats (5-2) to one touchdown in the second half.
Wilridge finished with three catches for 73 yards, while Henry Hunter had five catches for 49 yards and one score. Kicker Tommy Hebert conencted on a league-best four field goals. Harrison, who came off the bench, also rushed for a touchdown.
Deron Ellis threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another for Austin, who took a 30-14 on Robert Quiroga's 32-yarder from Ellis with 12:47 left in the second quarter.
Interceptions by Brandon Thomas and Sammy Knight - -who scored on a 49-yard return -- helped the Swashbucklers come back and take a 34-33 lead on Harrison's 30-yarder to Wilridge with 46 seconds left in the SIFL's highest scoring half of the season.
Austin briefly regained lead with a Darren Brown field goal with with 14 seconds left, but Hebert answered with a 23-yarder with less than a second remaining.
Louisiana scored on the first play of the second half when Harrison hit Wilridge for a 35-yard touchdown to make it 44-36.
Quiroga had four catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns for the Turfcats, while Brown posted three field goals.
