Thanks Troops: The Mississippi Surge will hold a salute to the Troops Friday night, presented by the Mississippi Army National Guard. That night, the Surge hosts the Pensacola Ice Flyers at 7:05. For that game, the Surge players will be wearing special military jerseys. On Sunday, the Surge travels to Louisiana to battle the IceGators at 3:05 p.m.
Close Calls: The Surge had four games last week, all decided by one goal, with two in overtime, and one in a shootout. They went 1-1-2, losing to Pensacola 2-1; dropping a 3-2 game to the Mississippi RiverKings in overtime; then splitting with the Huntsville Havoc, winning 4-3 in overtime, and losing 3-2 in a shootout.
