Mississippi Surge News Release
Home Again: The Mississippi Surge returns home for the first time in three weeks, taking on the Fayetteville FireAntz Friday and Saturday with both games starting at Mississippi Coast Coliseum at 7:05 p.m.
Good Trip: Splitting last weekend's games at Augusta (losing 4-0 Friday and winning 2-1 in overtime Saturday) gave the Surge a record of 4-2-0 on its longest road trip of the season.
Toys For Tots: The Surge has again teamed up with the U.S. Marines in the annual Toys For Tots drive. Surge players have appeared with Marines at various locations, to help the toy drive. At Friday's game, Marines will be on hand collecting toys. Fans are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Marines fToys for Tots at Friday's game.
Fur Will Fly: Saturday will be the Surge's annual Teddy Bear toss. The Surge is asking fans to bring teddy bears to the game and then throw them on the ice when the Surge scores its first goal. The bears will be collected and distributed to various hospitals first responders, and agencies for distribution to children.
Chat It Up: Surge head coach Jeff Bes and two players will be on hand for the next Surge Hockey Happy Hour. The Hockey Happy Hour will be Tuesday night at 6:30 and will take place at Fox's Pizza Den, Highway 49 in Gulfport.
