Mississippi Surge News Release
Road Trip Ends: The Mississippi Surge will wrap up its longest road trip of the season this weekend, heading to Augusta to play the Riverhawks Friday and Saturday. Each game starts at 6:35 p.m. Central time and each game will be televised at Mugshots.
Good Trip: With two wins and a loss last weekend, the Surge is currently 3-1-0 on this trip. Last week the Surge beat Huntsville, 4-2; defeated the Mississippi RiverKings 3-1, then playing the third game in three days, lost at Louisiana, 6-1.
Nice Return: Left wing Tommy Lange returned from loan to Tulsa of the Central Hockey League, and after missing the Huntsville game, he scored just 2:18 in his return to the Surge against the RiverKings.
Real Plus: Corey Tamblyn leads the Surge with a +11 rating in his 12 games played. He has had only one game where he had a minus rating.
First One: In Saturday's loss at Louisiana, the lone Surge goal of the game came from Trent Bonnett. It was the first professional goal for the Surge defenseman.
Back At It: Kiefer Smiley got the win in goal Friday against the RiverKings. It was his first game back in action, after serving a five game suspension.
Back Home: The Surge will return home for a two game set against the Fayetteville FireAntz December 14th and 15th.
