Pulaski Mariners News Release
PULASKI, VA - As the 2012 regular season swiftly approaches, the Pulaski Mariners are gearing up for another exciting season at historic Calfee Park. Fans and the local community can help the Mariners during their 2012 season by participating in the "Adopt-a-Mariner" program.
By "adopting" a Mariner, individuals can support a Mariners player in the form of bringing them food before and after a game, offering transportation to nearby grocery stores or to/from a game, providing advice and social support if needed, or by simply welcoming them to the Pulaski community as best as you can!
This program does not require you to open your home to the player(s) to live with you or in any other fashion.
The program was started in 2009 in an effort to help the players adjust and transition to the community. Such an adjustment can be very difficult for many young players, as they are often far from their homes and families, and also lack a form of transportation.
If you would like to adopt a Mariner or would like more information about the program, please contact Meredith McGrady at Meredith@mcgrady1.net, 540-980-3434 (Office), or at 540-230-5620 (Cell).
