
SuperLigaT 2007 to Kick off in Hollywood with Press Conference on July 23

NEW YORK (Tuesday, July 17, 2007) - Executives of Major League Soccer and the Federacion Mexicana de Futbol (FMF) as well as players and coaches from the Los Angeles Galaxy, including David Beckham, and CF Pachuca will participate in a press conference to kick off SuperLiga 2007 - tournament to crown the champion of North America - on Monday, July 23, 2007 at The Annex at Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles, California. The Galaxy and Pachuca meet the following night, July 24 at 8 p.m., PT, at The Home Depot Center in the opening game of Group A.
Played between elite teams from Mexico's Primera Division (CD Guadalajara, Club America, CF Pachuca and Monarcas Morelia) and Major League Soccer (FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, D.C. United and the Los Angeles Galaxy), SuperLiga crowns the top team of the region and offers an unprecedented one million dollars in prize money to the champion. The eight teams will face off in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C with the winner being crowned on Aug. 29 in a yet to be announced venue.
