Super Wolves Sign Florio

October 24, 2003 - International Independent Hockey League (IIHL)
Southern Michigan Super Wolves News Release

The Southern Michigan Super Wolves of the International Independent Hockey League have picked up rights to a player who could become a big fan favorite this winter at Chelsea's Acrtic Coliseum.

Rocky Florio of Burlington, Ontario is a veteran minor league pro known for his hard-hitting, rough style. He has a reputation as a man with fast fists who is quick to come to the aid of teammates.

Florio, 26, was picked up on waivers after originally signed by the IIHL's Northern Michigan Predators earlier in the week. He signed a Commitment Card with the Predators after being released during training camp with the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League.

Florio is a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder with previous pro experience with the Mohawk Valley Prowlers of the United Hockey League, Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, Monroe Moccasins of the Western Professional Hockey League and Loval Chiefs of the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League. Prior to turning pro, he played Junior A with Space-Coast Blast of Southern Elite Hockey League.

The Super Wolves will be looking for talent next weekend in Harbor Springs, Michigan at a Pro Free Agent Tryout Camp on Nov. 1-2. Players can get information by calling the IIHL Director of Player Development at (231) 348-8480.

The event to be hosted this weekend in Ann Arbor by International Hockey College (IHC) of Pittsburgh has been cancelled.
