
SunFire beats L.A. to stay perfect

In a back-and-forth battle, the San Diego SunFire beat the Los Angeles Lasers 33-26 last night in front of 975 at Patrick Henry High in American Football Women's League action.
With two more games to play in the regular season, the SunFire remains undefeated at 6-0. The Lasers are 3-3.
San Diego, which fell behind early, took a 21-14 lead at halftime and never looked back.
SunFire quarterback Melissa Gallegos was 7-of-19 for 105 yards and three touchdowns, hooking up with Carmen Cruz on TD passes of 8 and 11 yards. Gallegos also hit De Angela Minter with a 27-yard TD toss.
Railene Ritzberg rushed for 92 yards, scoring once on a 17-yard run. Melissa Simmons added 56 yards and scored the final TD on a 14-yard run.
