Sundogs Welcome PJ Pinkerton as New Athletic Trainer

Prescott Valley, AZ - PJ Pinkerton joins the Sundogs after a stint with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL) during their 2012-13 campaign.

Pinkerton grew up in Oklahoma City and began playing ice hockey at the age of 13. After playing three years of juniors, he attended Eastern Michigan University. While at Eastern he played college hockey and studied Sports Medicine-Exercise Science. Pinkerton graduated in 2010 and in 2011 he chose to attend the University of Central Oklahoma graduating in May 2013 with a Master's Degree in Athletic Training. While at Central Oklahoma he spent time working with high school and collegiate athletic departments, as well as observing physical therapists and the Oklahoma City Barons' teams orthopedic physician.

After graduating from Eastern, Pinkerton interned with Athletes' Compound in Tampa, Florida as a strength coach, where he trained numerous professional athletes from football, baseball, hockey and tennis. While in Tampa, he also worked with college football players preparing for the NFL combine.
