Arizona Sundogs News Release
Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs will sport a specially designed Hotshot Jersey as a tribute to the 19 firefighters who lost their lives while battling the Yarnell Fire. Their home opener game is set for October 25, 2013.
Released today, was the design of the specialty jersey that the Arizona Sundogs will present opening night. Each Sundogs player will wear the number 19 in honor of the fallen firefighters and immediately following the game each jersey will be auctioned off. All proceeds raised through the auction will be donated to an approved fund for the families. Included in the design of the jersey will be each of the men's names on the front and on the reverse side will be the Hotshot prayer.
"We feel this is a great way to honor those men and show our support for their families", said Sundogs General Manager, Chris Presson. "What we're doing isn't nearly enough considering the loss that each of them have sustained, but through the continued support of the community we will all help each other through the grief."
The Sundogs are also excited to present each family with a one-of-a-kind gift that only they will receive. The team will continue to coordinate plans for their opening game, in an effort to make it a special and unique experience for everyone in attendance. More details will be released as they are finalized.
