Arizona Sundogs News Release

Prescott Valley - The Arizona Sundogs, a member of the Central Hockey League, set up shop in Prescott Valley, Arizona seven years ago. Immediately upon arrival in Prescott Valley, giving back to the community was high on the Sundogs' management priority list.

Professional sport franchises across America give back millions of dollars each year to their respective communities. According to Sundogs General Manager Chris Presson, "Our organization has been unusually generous in its seven year history. While giving back is essential to all sports concerns across America, the Sundogs, I believe, have set the standard for community generosity here in Yavapai County."

When asked for a dollar figure of donations to local organizations Presson said, "Our best accounting on the low side to date is a quarter of a million dollars. A staggering and rewarding number to our organization, and the communities we serve when taken into account. We are not operating in a major metropolitan area. That number demonstrates the generosity and heart of the people of Yavapai County, as well as the tremendous support they have given to their Arizona Sundogs."

Presson shared the names of numerous non-profits and community organizations that have received funds from the Sundogs over the seven year period. The following are a handful of concerns that have benefited from the Sundogs' generosity: Special Olympics, Prevent Child Abuse, Boys & Girls Club, United Way, Yavapai Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Read Across America, YMCA, and Yavapai Humane Society.

The Arizona Sundogs are preparing for the upcoming hockey season which opens in October. Presson closed by saying, "The Sundogs will be ready to entertain and win for our fans, but just as important to us we are prepared once again to give back to the people of Yavapai County who make it possible for us to play the game we love."
