Strykers Get 4-3 Win over Generals; Host Food Drive at Friday's Game

The Woodlands Strykers beat the Victoria Generals tonight 4-3. The team got great pitching from Kevin Roy and Nolan Holland to go along with clutch hitting. The two teams will finish their two game series tomorrow night at 7:05 from Strykers Stadium at The Woodlands Christian Academy and will have a special food drive to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands.

The Woodlands Strykers beat the Victoria Generals tonight 4-3. The team got great pitching from Kevin Roy and Nolan Holland to go along with clutch hitting. The two teams will finish their two game series tomorrow night at 7:05 from Strykers Stadium at The Woodlands Christian Academy and will have a special food drive to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Kevin Roy made his third start of the season. He pitched seven innings giving up four hits and two runs. He struck out four batters and threw 90 pitches. Nolan Holland came in for the final two innings and struck out three batters while earning the save.

The Strykers put together seven hits on the evening. Drake Roberts was 2-3 and Dirk Masters was 2-4. Conner Fikes, Ricky Sanchez and Zach Davis each had one hit. Davis scored the first run in the third inning. He led off with a double and then scored when Roberts followed with a RBI single. The Strykers got three runs in the fifth to take the lead. Davis would score the first run of the inning when we would draw a walk and then come around to score when Roberts hit a single that was misplayed by the Generals. Roberts would score when the next batter, Conner Fikes would hit a single. The final run was scored by Fikes who came home on a single by Dirk Masters.

The Strykers will conclude the series with the Generals tomorrow evening(July 19) at 7:05 from Strykers Stadium at The Woodlands Christian Academy. There will be a special food drive at the game. Fans who donate a non perishable food item to Interfaith of The Woodlands will receive 1/2 GA tickets. The game is also a "Family Friday" with Free Kids admission and a post game autograph signing.
