Strong Dogs schedule first tryout camp
August 10, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Tampa Bay Strong Dogs News Release
Harlem, NY. The ABA Harlem Strong Dogs professional basketball team are proud to announce their first tryout camp for the upcoming 2005-2006 season that starts in November.
Activities will begin promptly at 9am on Saturday, September 17th and at 9am on Sunday September 18th at Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York, located at 1150 Carroll Street in Brooklyn, NY (between Nostrand and Rogers Avenues). The closest subway stations are at President Street for the Number 2 or 5 trains and at Nostrand Avenue for the Number 3 train. The nearest bus stops are for the Number 43, 44, and 49 lines.
Dozens of former and current players in the league began their professional careers elsewhere. Some notable former New York Knicks that fit this category are Chris Childs, Anthony Mason and Charlie Ward. Are you the next player to make this similar group?
Native New Yorker and former Brooklyn Prep, Fordham Ram, Buffalo Brave and Atlanta Hawk of the NBA, GM and Head Coach Kenny Charles enters his second season at the helm of the Harlem Strong Dogs. Coach Charles will be evaluating players who no longer have collegiate eligilibility and are qualified under guidelines to play professional basketball. "This will be a great opportunity of a lifetime for players to demonstrate their professional ability," said Coach Charles.
Participants will be required to submit the amount of $100 NON-REFUNDABLE payable in cash, money order or certified/bank cashier's check to Kaizen International, LLC 350 Fifth Avenue Suite 2824, New York, NY 10118. Absolutely no personal checks will be accepted.
Tryout fees will be refunded if the player makes official opening game roster. For further information about the Harlem Strong Dogs, please call 212 594 6529, email info@harlemstrongdogs.com, visit www.harlemstrongdogs.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
