Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Boise, ID - The Sioux Falls Skyforce lost to the Idaho Stampede tonight 114-101 (6, 1) to drop to 30-17 on the season. The ‘Force had their 11-game winning streak snapped and was unable to clinch the Western Conference title. The 'Force still controls their own destiny as a win at Yakama tomorrow night clinches the Western Conference title and #1 seed overall in the 2006 CBA Playoffs. Idaho improved to 25-23 with the win and finished the regular season with a 17-7 record at home.

Both teams played well in the opening quarter and the score was deadlocked at 30 after one quarter. The score remained close throughout the second quarter until the Skyforce held a three-point lead with :25 seconds left in the first half. An airball from Corey Williams resulted in a shot clock violation which gave the Stampede a final shot to tie the quarter. They did just that as Randy Livingston nailed a three-pointer from the corner at the buzzer as the score was 59-59 at halftime. The teams traded baskets again in the third quarter and Geno Carlisle hit a jumper with :05 seconds to tie the quarter at 19 a piece and the game at 78 a piece. Once again the Stampede would hit a three at the buzzer as Matt Freije won the quarter (22-19) for Idaho and they led 81-78 after three quarters. There was too much Freije in the final quarter and Idaho picked up the big win in their final regular season game.
