Storm's Robby Fabbri Named CHL Player of the Week

April 15, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) News Release

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that 2014 NHL Draft prospect Robby Fabbri of the Guelph Storm is the CHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and three assists for seven points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-5 for the playoff week ending April 13.

Fabbri helped lead the Storm to a berth in the OHL's Western Conference Finals where they will face the Erie Otters after a five-game series win over the London Knights. In the final three games of the second round series last week against the Knights, Fabbri recorded three multi-point performances beginning with a two-goal effort that included the game-winner as first star of the 4-2 victory in Game 3 on Tuesday night. In Game 4 on Thursday he was named third star of the 6-3 victory recording a goal and two assists, then finished the series with a goal and an assist in the 5-4 triumph in Game 5 on Friday.

Fabbri, an 18-year-old from Mississauga, ON, is playing in his second OHL season with the Storm. Eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft, Fabbri was listed 21st overall by NHL Central Scouting in their Final Draft Rankings released last week. Fabbri has nine points in six playoff games after finishing tied for 14th in OHL scoring during the regular season with 45 goals and 42 assists for 87 points in 58 games played.

Also considered for the award this week was Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads who scored three goals and five assists for eight points in the final three games of their second round series against the Gatineau Olympiques.
