Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - Storm wide receiver Joe Hills was honored for his performance in a 77-65 win over the Utah Blaze this past Saturday night. The AFL announced that Hills has earned the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week.

Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week: Hills (6'5, 215, Tennessee State) had an outstanding offensive performance against the Blaze. He caught 16 passes for 259 yards and 5 touchdowns. The 259 receiving yards broke a franchise record, previously held by DeAndrew Rubin, for most yards in a single-game. It was also the third best receiving performance in league history. Hills' 16 receptions versus Utah were the second-most receptions in Storm history, just shy of tying Rubin's mark of 17. He now leads the league in receiving yards per game (155.7), receptions per game (10.0), and is riding a streak of seven consecutive multi-touchdown games.

AFL MVP of The Week: For the third week in a row Storm quarterback Adrian McPherson has been nominated for AFL MVP of the Week. Joining him is teammate Joe Hills for the first time this season. Voting opens on Wednesday, April 10 at 1:00 PM EST, and can be found at www.arenafootball.com. Voting ends on Thursday, April 4, with the winner being announced later in the afternoon.
