Storm Sign Stewart And Weatherford

TAMPA BAY - The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm have signed offensive lineman Carnell Stewart and quarterback Drew Weatherford, announced head coach and general manger Tim Marcum.

"We had a few spots open going into training camp and wanted to add some depth," said Marcum. "Drew is a young kid with a nice arm and will compete for the back-up position with BJ Hall while Carnell gives us some extra depth on the line and we expect him to compete for a spot."

Stewart (6-3, 315, Louisiana State) was a starter on LSU's National Championship team in 2007. He began his collegiate career as a defensive tackle and transitioned to offensive tackle during his junior year. Coming out of John Curtis High School (New Orleans, LA) he was the ninth rated defensive tackle by ESPN and won a 4A State Title.

Weatherford (6-2, 215, Florida State) a local product out of Land O' Lakes High School (Land O' Lakes, FL) was a three-year starter at FSU. A starter as a freshman, he went on to set an ACC record for most passing yards by a freshman with 3,208. He finished career as a Seminole with 7,567 yards passing on 644 completions with 39 touchdowns. In 2009 he participated in the Chicago Bears mini-camp.

The team also placed linemen Dennis Conley and Robert Powell as well as receiver Talon St. Michaels on refused to report.
