Lake Elsinore Storm News Release
Lake Elsinore, CA April 3, 2007 - The Lake Elsinore Storm in conjunction with The Mighty XX announced plans for the broadcast of Storm baseball games for the 2007 season on CASH 1700 AM. CASH will carry the majority of Storm games as the official flagship station for Lake Elsinore Storm baseball.
"We are looking forward to our renewed partnership with Cash 1700 AM," said Dave Oster, President of the Lake Elsinore Storm. "The station offers us great coverage of Storm games throughout the Southern California region. This will continue to help us promote future Padre players through a powerhouse station that offers a natural partnership to promote our team through both Cash and the Padres sister station Mighty XX."
"We realize through comments made by our local fans that there are a few spots that are difficult to pick up with the current signal," Oster explains. "Presently we are working with Cash 1700 in hopes that a stronger signal will soon be added to help further the clarity of Storm games. We feel this is a perfect marriage and believe the relationship and the product will continue to improve each season."
Sean McCall, radio voice of the Storm since 1996, will return as the team's play-by-play announcer. "Renewing our broadcasting partnership is great news for the extended Storm listening audience," said McCall. "Following San Diego's future Padres on the Padres' sister station makes perfect sense."
In addition to radio coverage of Storm baseball on CASH 1700 AM, Storm games will once again be broadcast on the Internet through the team's website at stormbaseball.com.
Storm first pitch times for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday games is set for 7:07 pm, with the Storm pre-game show beginning at 6:50 pm. Coverage for Wednesday games are set for 6:07 pm with Sunday games beginning at 2:07 pm for the first half of the season, and 6:07 pm for the second half. Coverage for the 2007 season begins April 5 with the Storm on the road versus the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at 7:05 pm.
"We are excited to once again have Lake Elsinore Storm Baseball on CASH 1700 AM," said CASH 1700 Program Director Joe Tutino. "It's great to be able keep an ear on how future Padres are doing on the farm. Storm baseball is a perfect fit our audience. Last year we followed the Storm as they made their run for the California League title. We look forward to them taking it all in 2007."
Last season, the Storm advanced to the Southern Division Finals with a division-best record of 74-66. Tickets for the Storm home opener on Thursday, April 12, along with all other home games are currently on sale.
