
Storm Hire Dunn as Assistant

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have named James "Jimmy" Dunn as special teams, fullbackers/linebackers coach, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.
"Coach Dunn has great experience in the arena league." Marcum said. "His wealth of knowledge in the game will be vital to our team and our players."
Dunn was a former University of Florida standout from 1956-58 where he played quarterback for the Gators. After his playing career the 68-year old served as offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee for six seasons (1964-69). With Dunn at the helm of the offense the Volunteers captured the SEC Conference title in 1967 and 1969, capping the '69 season with a National Championship. In 1970 he returned to his alma mater in Gainesville for nine seasons (1970-78) as an Offensive Coordinator under Head Coach Doug Dickey.
The Tampa, FL native began his professional coaching career in 1984 as receivers coach for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League under head coach Steve Spurrier. In 1991 he was the Player Personnel Scout for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His Arena Football coaching career started in 1993 where he served as the offensive coordinator for the Miami Hooters and was named head coach in 1994. In 1996, Dunn was the special teams coordinator for the Orlando Predators.
