Storm fall to Voodoo 66-47

New Orleans - The Tampa Bay Storm (2-2, 2-1) fell to the New Orleans Voodoo (2-2, 1-0) Friday night at the New Orleans Arena by a score of 66-47 in front of 8,677 fans. The victory for the VooDoo was its first home victory since May 30, 2008.

Tampa Bay was paced by Prechae Rodriguez who led all receivers with nine receptions, 121 yards and four touchdown receptions. Rodriguez was knocked out of the game late in the fourth quarter after he was hit in the head by a VooDoo defender. That was the third personal foul for the VooDoo in the game, as one late in the second quarter knocked offensive lineman Julius Wilson out of the game as well.

Amarri Jackson caught six passes for 98 yards and a score in his first game back. Starting quarterback Stephen Wasil finished the game with 310 yards and seven touchdowns as he completed 25-of-47 passes. Wasil also had three interceptions.

The recipient of one of those interceptions was defensive player of the game Jeremy Kellem. His interception in the second quarter turned the momentum of the game in favor of the VooDoo, as he returned the interception 39-yards for a touchdown to put the VooDoo up 30-14. New Orleans Starting quarterback Kurt Rocco completed 24-of-35 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns. The Voodoo added three more scores on the ground including two Joe Alajajian from Florida International.

The Tampa Bay Storm returns home next week to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, Friday, April 13 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
