Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - Quarterback Jason Boltus fired a 15-yard touchdown pass to veteran receiver T.T. Toliver with 15 seconds remaining to give the Tampa Bay Storm (7-10, 2-3) a 38-34 Arena Football League over the Los Angeles Kiss (4-12, 1-5) Saturday night at Amalie Arena, but it was the defense which guaranteed the victory as time ran out before a season-high, Fan Appreciation night crowd of 16,308

In the final 15 seconds, quarterback Danny Southwick, who led the Kiss with four touchdown passes, connected with Demarco Sampson for 20 yards. Then with only two seconds remaining, Nick Addison intercepted Southwick, thanks to a defensive line pressure that was unstoppable.

Storm fullback Undra Hendrix, getting his first start of the season, had a pair of bruising two-yard touchdown runs and his only reception for 17 yards - mostly on the ground - was the Cutter Catch of the Game.

Defense again was the Storm's lightning rod as defensive backs James Harrell was back to form with an interception and pass break up and Alfred Phillips collected a Southwick pass and added a pair of breakups to his league-leading total, now at 39.

Signed on Thursday, rookie defensive lineman Rony Barrow (6-2, 2950 out of Daytona Beach's Bethune-Cookman, had a quarterback sack and two QB hurries to his pressure play.

Harrell has a team-leading seven interceptions and ranks in the top five of his league contemporaries. Addison, who moved to the jack-linebacker tonight also had a pair of pass breakups, giving him six in just four games this season. Defensive linemen Everett Dawkins and Richard Clebert also has sacks.

Dexter Jackson's fumble recovery and pass break up also added the Storm's tough defense.

The Storm close out the 2015 regular season Saturday, Aug. 8, when they travel to Orlando to meet the Predators. Game time for the third installment of the "War on I-4" is 7 p.m. Jack Harris and Darek Sharp bring you all the action on 620 AM-WDAE.
