Storm Adds Defensive Lineman

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm acquired defensive lineman Matt Hardison, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

"We are excited to have Matt join us for the upcoming season," said Gooch. "He has NFL experience and we believe he will help us compete at the highest level."

Hardison (6-foot-4, 300 lbs., Delaware) enters his first season with the Tampa Bay Storm. He played at Rutgers University before settling in at Delaware. Hardison played in 24 games for the Blue Hens making five starts. He tallied 29 total tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss including a half sack, and a pass breakup. In two seasons at Delaware, Hardison helped lead the Blue Hens to a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title and a berth in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision national title game in 2010.

The Freehold, New Jersey native began his professional career with the New York Jets of the National Football League, having signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2012.
