
Storm Add Veteran Defensive Back

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has added defensive back Riley Swanson to the roster announced head coach Dave Ewart. The Storm now has nine open roster spots headed into the 2012 campaign.
"We watched a lot of film on Riley and really liked what we saw," said Ewart. "He is a competitor and plays hard every down."
Swanson (6-foot-0, 185 lbs., Wake Forest) enters his third season in the Arena Football League. He spent the first two seasons (2010-11) as a member of the Arizona Rattlers and recorded 151 tackles, six interceptions - one returned for a touchdown, 14 pass breakups, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble. In college, he appeared in 47 for the Demon Deacons and finished his career with 179 tackles, seven interceptions and two fumble recoveries. He spent time with the Buffalo Bills in 2007, after signing as an undrafted free agent and with the Montreal Alouettes in 2008.
The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm celebrates its 25th season in the AFL. The 2012 Season home opener is Friday, March 16 versus South Division rival Georgia Force.
