TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired rookie quarterback Jonathan Bane, announced Storm Vice President of Football Operations Jeff Gooch.
"Jonathan is a quarterback that has the quick release that is needed for the indoor game," said Gooch. "We look forward to seeing him come out to compete in training camp."
Bane (6-foot-3, 205 lbs., Dakota Wesleyan) begins his rookie season in the Arena Football League with the Storm. The Temple, TX native played four seasons for Dakota Wesleyan University, becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in school history. The former Tiger is a three-time All-Great Plains Athletic Conference selection, helping lead the team to an 8-3 record in his senior season, a mark that had been reached only three times in program history.
Bane finished his collegiate career having completed 744-of-1,360 pass attempts for 9,224 yards and 83 touchdowns. He finished as the team's all-time passing yardage leader with 9,224 yards.
While a rookie in the Arena Football League, Bane has indoor football experience having played for the Richmond Raiders of the Professional Indoor Football League.
