The West Coast League's Moss Adams Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, as announced by league commissioner Rob Neyer, are UT Martin junior outfielder Jordan Stoner of the Bellingham Bells and Lower Columbia College frosh pitcher Mitch Lines of the Cowlitz Black Bears for the week of June 1-3.
This summer's first position player pick was Jordan Stoner, who is coming off a big spring with the UT Martin Skyhawks. In the Bells two games at Kelowna, Stoner went 8-for-11 including a 5-for-5 performance with a triple on Saturday. On Opening Night, Stoner tripled and homered.
Stoner was named first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference, as the outfielder from Puyallup, Washington hit .382 with 17 doubles, 4 homers and 25 RBIs for the Skyhawks.
The inaugural pitching selection for 2018 was Mitch Lines of Cowlitz. The right-hander picked up an Opening Night win at Bend, tossing 5 scoreless innings while walking none and striking out 8 in the Black Bears 5-3 victory over the Elks.
This past spring, Lines pitched for the back-to-back NWAC champion Lower Columbia College Red Devils. He went 6-0 and posted a 1.94 ERA over 11 appearances and 7 starts.
