Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The freedom to assemble for a cause is as American as baseball, and this Thursday the Stockton Ports invite all fans to come to Banner Island Ballpark to participate in and enjoy Free O.J. Night.

Fans will be ushered into the ballpark by picketers chanting and promoting the event. For Free O.J. Night, the Ports will be giving away free orange juice to all fans (as long as supplies last), promoting healthy beverage alternatives and poking a little pop culture fun.

With this promotion, the Ports are doing their part to respond to the National President's Challenge, a program encouraging all Americans to live a healthy lifestyle. Fans are encouraged to join the cause and enjoy free orange juice at Thursday's 7:05 p.m. game against Bakersfield.

Fresh orange juice is full of vitamin C, potassium and folic acid, essential vitamins and minerals that the human body needs. Vitamin C helps metabolic reactions, and is also a highly effective antioxidant. Potassium is an essential element of neuron function, and helps maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in the human body. Potassium can also help reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke. Folic acid is needed to produce healthy red blood cells, and to prevent anemia. Some orange juice producers add calcium and Vitamin D to make the beverage even more nutrient-heavy.

The Stockton Ports want to do their part to support the National President's Challenge and encourage their fans to live a fit and healthy life, full of excellent nutrition and exercise.
