
Sting Sign Defensemen Cochrane and Murray

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Arizona Sting General Manager and Head Coach Bob Hamley announced today that the Sting has signed defensemen Mark Cochrane and Bruce Murray to one-year contracts.
Cochrane, 39, registered 2-8-10 and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 12 games for the Sting last season. The 6-2, 180-pound native of Owen Sound, Ontario tied for fourth on the team last season with 73 loose balls. Cochrane also collected 1-1-2 in the Sting's three playoff games last season.
The upcoming campaign will mark Cochrane's third with the Sting. The defenseman began his career in the National Lacrosse League with Buffalo in 1994.
Last season, Murray recorded 0-4-4 in 16 games with Anaheim. The 6-2, 230-pounder led Anaheim with 83 loose balls last season. In 55 career NLL games over four campaigns, the Coquitlam, British Columbia native has registered 2-20-22 and 131 PIM.
Murray, 28, was acquired by the Sting in exchange for forward Noah Talbot from Minnesota on Aug. 24. Minnesota had chosen Murray with the fourth overall selection in the NLL Dispersal Draft in July.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).
