
Sting Sign Coach Townsend to Multi-Year Deal

SAGINAW, MI -- The Saginaw Sting is proud to announce the signing of Head Coach Fred Townsend to a new multi-year contract. The contract extension comes on the heels of the Sting's undefeated CIFL championship season one year ago. The Coach weighed in on the signing, "I'm happy to be a part of a great organization that takes so much pride in their players and respects their coaches so much. This contract symbolizes the amount of commitment both parties have for each other and the community." The Saginaw Sting is making a commitment to consistency within the organization.
"Fred has been an key component of the success of the Sting organization since becoming locally owned.", said GM and Co-Owner Robert Licht who went on to say, "Offering Coach Townsend a multi-year deal only seemed fitting to show our commitment considering how valuable he is to us both on and off the field" Coach Townsend also weighed in on the news, "Consistency, is what the organization is looking for from top to bottom. The commitment for the next 3 years allows us to continue to build the franchise and to become the best in all of indoor football in the country".
If you wish to become a part of the defending CIFL Champion Saginaw Sting, they will be holding an open try-out October 28th at 4:00PM, located at the Saginaw Athletic Club on Gratiot Road in Saginaw. There is a $60 pre-registration fee or $75 fee at the door.
