Saginaw Sting News Release

Saginaw, MI - The Saginaw Sting would like to announce the re-signing of 2012 CIFL Championship Game MVP, Jeff Austin. Austin hails from Lansing, MI and is a 6'2" 175 lbs wide out that has great hands. He played his college ball at Saginaw Valley State University and was a key component in the Sting's championship run in 2012.

During the championship game last year, Jeff had 9 catches for 177 yards and 4 touchdowns to pace the Sting in the victory over Dayton.

"I'm excited to have a dynamic athlete like Jeff back," said head coach Fred Townsend, "I believe he learned a lot from his first season and I believe he will have a breakout year, showing he is one of the top receivers in the league."

Austin will be coming into the season with a determination to keep the CIFL trophy in Saginaw. He, along with the rest of the Saginaw Sting, will be working hard in anticipation for the season.

"I'm glad to be back and put on a show for the Saginaw fans," said Austin, "I can't wait to get back out there and put on the pads and do what I do best."

There are still roster spots and camp invites available. If you or someone you know would like an opportunity to make the team, come out to the Saginaw Sting's final tryout on 12/15 at Perani Arena in Flint. There is a $60 registration fee if you wish to register in advance ($75 at the door fee). For more information go to www.saginawsting.com or call the Sting Front Office at 989.714.4354.
