Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Sting and Cox Communications announced today that Saturday afternoon's playoff contest between the Sting and the Colorado Mammoth will be shown live on Cox 7 at 11:00AM PST.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for our great fans to be able to watch our playoff game live," said Sting Head Coach/GM Bob Hamley. "We've had a great working relationship with Cox for a few years and we're thrilled that it will be broadcasting the Western Final."
Cox 7 has been the television home for the Sting since its arrival in the Valley in 2003. Four of Arizona's eight home games were broadcast live on Cox 7 this season, including a March 18 game against the same Mammoth team that the Sting will be facing Saturday.
"Cox Communications is proud to be the broadcast partner of the Arizona Sting and to be able to televise this playoff game for Sting fans and Cox customers. Cox 7 is dedicated to bringing local sports into the homes of our viewers," says Ivan Johnson, vice president of community relations and televideo for Cox Arizona.
The Sting earned a berth in the West Divisional Final by virtue of their 14-11 victory over the Portland Lumberjax last weekend. The winner of this Saturday's contest will go on to play either the Buffalo Bandits or Rochester Knighthawks for the NLL's Champion's Cup on May 13.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Currently in its third season of existence, the Sting is the defending NLL West Division Champions. For more information, please call (480) 563-7825 or visit ArizonaSting.com.
