Saginaw Sting News Release
Saginaw, MI - The Sting's opposition will be getting a double-dose of Hibler when they take on Saginaw starting March 18th at Draper Auto Field inside The Dow Event Center. Today marks the signing of Jamar & Jamaal Hibler, twin brothers and Saginaw High standouts, to the Sting Football organization.
"I've had the opportunity to coach against both of these great athletic individuals when they were in high school and watch them grow throughout their college careers at Northwood," said Defensive Coordinator Fred Townsend, "They haven't changed a bit. They are very explosive and it will be exciting to have them play for the Sting and help showcase the amount of talent that is here in Saginaw. They are two great young men who represent what Sting Football stands for."
Jamaal & Jamar, both 2005 Michigan All-State football players for the Saginaw High Trojans, went on to play for Northwood University from 2006 - 2009. The Hibler's will be in camp which begins February 20th at the Saginaw Athletic Club.
"I got the opportunity to meet these individuals a few weeks back during one of our tryouts," said Co-Owner/General Manager Rob Licht, "I was overwhelmed by not only their athleticism but also their character. They will be a great fit in our secondary as we compete for our third indoor football championship."
The road to that third championship will begin Sunday, March 18th, at The Dow Event Center as the Sting take on the Chicago Vipers. Tickets are on sale now at The Dow Box Office. Season tickets are still available as well and start at only $50. For more information visit www.saginawsting.com or call the Sting Football front office at 989-714-4354.
