Sting Miss Chance to Knock off Johnstown
May 25, 2011 - Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL)
Saginaw Sting News Release
Over the weekend, the Generals prevented the Sting from completing their regular season sweep against them. The Generals still have their sights set on a playoff berth. Johnstown ran away with the game, defeating Saginaw by a final score of 58-20. The Sting is 9-4 with one week remaining. Northern Ken- tucky are tentatively the top seed in the UIFL with a 54- 40 win over Eastern Ken- tucky. The postseason matchups will be deter- mined in the final week of the regular season.
Next week, the Generals and the Hammer will battle for the final playoff spot. Although they will not have a head to head match-up, the outcomes of next week- end's games will be the de- termining factor. If the Sting defeat the Hammer in Huntington, and Johns- town wins, the Generals will earn the fourth seed. Johnstown holds the tie- breaker over Huntington, winning two of their three meetings. If the Hammer beat the Sting, then Hunt- ington will make the post- season.
Following all of the games, find the results on theuifl.com or each team's website. It's bound to be a great weekend of football and an interesting end to the league's inaugural regu- lar season play.
