Arizona Sting News Release

GLENDALE, AZ --- Arizona Sting Head Coach and General Manager Bob Hamley announced Tuesday that Ian McGough has been hired as the team's Head Eastern Scout.

"Ian is very well respected within the lacrosse community and we're extremely pleased to be adding him to the organization," said Hamley.

McGough, who serves as both Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel for the Brookin Redmen of Major Series Lacrosse, will be responsible for advanced scouting of National Lacrosse League teams playing in eastern venues.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the Sting," said McGough. "They have one of the best teams in the league and are well renowned as being a first-rate organization. This is a great opportunity for me and I'm looking forward to getting started."

This past summer, in his first full season as head coach, McGough led the Redmen to a record of 8-10, good for fourth place in the Ontario Lacrosse Association's Major Series Division. McGough coached the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse Association from 1992-95, leading the team to the playoffs in three of his four seasons behind the bench. In 2003, the Kitchener native served as Head Coach/General Manager on his hometown's Senior 'B' Division team, leading the K-W Kodiaks to a President's Cup as Canadian national champions.

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at the Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
