Sting Announce High School Giveaway Winner

June 6, 2012 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
Saginaw Sting News Release

The Saginaw Sting organization is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 High School Jersey Giveaway Contest presented by Hillier Studio and IMPACT Training by Stuart Schweigert. After a remarkable 6,000 plus votes were counted, including votes for over fifty local high schools, we would like to congratulate HEMLOCK HIGH SCHOOL!

Hemlock held off strong competition from Coleman, Vassar, Heritage, Bridgeport, Reese and Midland Dow to earn the rights to be awarded brand new jerseys for their varsity high school football team. Work is now underway to help them design and order those jerseys in anticipation of their arrival sometime during the 2012 fall season.

"We are honored to be able to give back to the community like this," said Co-Owner & General Manager Rob Licht. "Make no mistake about it, we will be doing this again during our 2013 season as well."

The contest, which ran the entire season, gave local high schools the opportunity to return ticket stubs at the conclusion of the game with their school's number written on the back of it. Each week the Sting staff would validate the ticket numbers and keep a running total for the entire season.

91 local high schools were mailed letters to the attention of their Athletic Director and Head Football Coach back in February and schools responded in a variety of ways. "Some requested posters and schedules," Licht said, "Others submitted group ticket orders and flooded the social media with requests to support their hometown."

The Huskies of Hemlock will be presented with the jerseys upon their completion and an official presentation will take place at that time.
