Sting Activate Ayana Walker; Place Kristen Rasmussen on Injured List

Charlotte Sting News Release


The Charlotte Sting activated forward Ayana Walker and placed forward Kristen Rasmussen on the Injured List with acute tendinitis in her left shoulder, it was announced today by Charlotte Sting General Manager Trudi Lacey.

Walker was signed as a free agent by Charlotte on July 6, 2005, and has seen action in three games for the Sting this season. She has missed the last four games on the Injured List due to left Achilles tendinitis.

Rasmussen was acquired by Charlotte on August 1, 2005, along with Adrienne Goodson and a 2006 first round draft pick from Houston in exchange for Dawn Staley and a 2006 second round draft pick. She has seen action in three games for the Sting, averaging 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.7 minutes.

The Sting host the New York Liberty tonight at 7 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum.
