
Stevens named director of ticket sales

INDIANAPOLIS, IN â The Indianapolis Indians have appointed Byron Stevens as Director of Ticket Sales, Indians General Manager Cal Burleson announced today. Stevens joins the Indians having served the Indiana Firebirds in a similar capacity this year.
"We are very enthused about the hiring of Byron Stevens as our Director of Ticket Sales," Burleson said. "Byron understands our mission of providing Indians Baseball at Victory Field as affordable family fun, and will play a key role in our efforts to to provide that experience to an increasing number of fans."
Stevens will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing a strategic ticket sales program for the Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Stevens served four years with the Firebirds, and recently completed his first season as Director of Ticket Sales. Prior to his promotion, Byron spent three seasons as a Firebirds Account Executive including one as Senior Account Executive. As Senior Account Executive, Stevens helped to develop new sales avenues and create new group events.
Prior to joining the Firebirds, Stevens spent eleven years as owner/operator of Embree Lawnscaping in Indianapolis. During that period of time he also spent seven years working in the Market Square Arena and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices as a ticket seller.
Stevens is a 1989 graduate of Purdue University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Supervision. Originally from LaPorte, Ind., he currently resides in Indianapolis with his wife Michele.
