Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown SteelHounds of the Central Hockey League announced today that Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski has re-signed forward Mark Odut for the 2007-08 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Odut, 27, joined the team on December 8, 2006 from the ECHL's Long Beach Ice Dogs and in 45 games for the SteelHounds he amassed six goals and 16 assists for 22 points. The forward from Dauphin, Manitoba is no stranger to Hounds Head Coach Kevin Kaminski playing for him with the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League. While playing under Kaminski with Missouri he notched 41 points on 24 goals and 17 assists during the 2004-2005 season.

Kaminski considers the 5-11, 175 pound left winger as a trusted contributor to this team saying, "He has a great mind for every aspect of this game. He can score, but he also has a lot of pride for his play in the defensive zone and Mark is a very smart penalty killer."

Mark Odut joins forwards Mark Johnson and Chris Shaffer, as well as defensemen Jeff Alcombrack and Stephen Margeson as returning players from the squad who qualified for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history last season.

The Youngstown SteelHounds will begin year three of hard hitting action this fall. Season tickets are still on sale and start as low as $42 a month. Contact the Hounds ticket department at (330) 747-PUCK for information on all of the great ticket plans to see the SteelHounds at the Chevrolet Centre.
