
Steelheads Rematch With Dodge City Tuesday Night at the Genesis Center

GARY, Indiana (June 5, 2007) - The Gary Steelheads host a rematch with the Dodge City Legend at the Genesis Center Tuesday night. The Steelheads hope to even the score with the Legend, following Dodge City's 94-86 victory in Gary Sunday.
The Legend showed how they earned the USBL's best record at 14-4, by holding the Steelheads to just .321 shooting Sunday evening. Dodge City also ruled the boards, 54-40. Gary hit just 3-of-21 shots from three point range, falling to 13-8 on the year.
The Steelheads played without 7-foot-1 center Chris Alexander, benched for disciplinary reasons. Forwards Brian Lubeck and Chris Sockwell responded with big games. Lubeck turned in a double-double performance of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Sockwell also scored 18 points with six rebounds.
Forward Jamario Moon lead all Steelheads' scorers with 16 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Forward Corey Minnifield added 15 points, while guard Carl Edwards added 13 and guard Louis White chipped in 11 points in a losing cause.
Sunday's game also marked the first return to Gary for coach Dale Osbourne, who prevously served as both an assistant and head coach for the Steelheads. Osbourne took the head coaching job with the Legend while serving with the Steelheads in the CBA.
A broadcast of Tuesday night's game will air through the SportsJuice web site (www.sportsjuice.com), with Bill Hazen calling his seventh season of Steelheads' action. Airtime will be 6:50PM CDT. Game time is 7:00PM CDT.
