Steelheads Name Kevin Spudic Vice President and General Manager

GARY, Indiana (January 8, 2007) "" The Gary Steelheads reached into Northwest Indiana for their new Vice President and General Manager, naming Highland, Indiana native Kevin Spudic to the position. He assumes the post immediately.

"We couldn't have found a better person for this position," said team President Jewell Harris Jr. "His track record speaks for itself, and I believe his decision to join the Steelheads is a win-win deal."

Spudic joins the Steelheads with a vast background in sports administration. His resume includes work as an independent sports consultant for several teams in the Chicagoland area. In this role, he managed the startup and establishment of three expansion franchises playing at the new Sears Centre in suburban Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Spudic is also a familiar face in Northwest Indiana sports, having served for three years as Assistant General Manager of the Gary SouthShore Railcats baseball team. He oversaw all facets of sales and marketing at U.S. Steelyard, along with private, group and corporate ticket sales. He also developed a 10-year stadium naming rights contract, valued at $2.3 million.

Spudic served as Director of Ticket Sales for the Chicago Enforcers of the XFL, as well as the Chicago Fire and Kansas City Wiz of Major League Soccer. He began his career as a sales representative for the Chicago White Sox, working his way up to Manager of Special Sales Programs for the team. Spudic also was a Senior Marketing Executive with Major Broadcasting/Major Sports Marketing, where he raised funds for the Chicago Marathon and the CBA's Chicago Rockers.

Spudic played baseball at Valparaiso University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985. He attended graduate school at Western Illinois University, concentrating his studies in Sports Management.
