Steelheads lose close one to Idaho
GARY, Ind. (March 13, 2004) The Steelheads came up just a bit short Saturday in their 111-108 loss to the Idaho Stampede.
The Stampede won Game 4 and the best-of-five series 3-1.
Shelly Clark and Immanuel McElroy each recorded doubles. Clark scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds. McElroy had 28 points and 11 rebounds. Jemeil Rich scored 26 points and had eight assists. David Graves scored 15 points with five rebounds and five assists.
Paul McPherson led six Stampede in double-figure scoring with 28 points. Casey Calvary had 11 rebounds.
The Steelheads won more games this season (28) than any other team in the franchise history. They set many records, including attendance. They drew 65,702 fans for 24 regular season home games. They made the playoffs for the first time ever and their Game 3 crowd of 3,132 is the top single-game playoff attendance this season in the Continental Basketball Association. The Steelheads drew 6,202 for their regular season finale on March 6. The 5,836 that came to the home opener on November 15 was largest opening-night crowd in the CBA this season.
