Steelheads Host Oklahoma Storm at the Genesis Center Thursday Night

GARY, Indiana (May 31, 2007) - With a three-game losing streak behind them, the Gary Steelheads turn their attention to the Oklahoma Storm at the Genesis Center Thursday night. It will be the second meeting to date between the two USBL franchises.

The Steelheads finally broke through with a victory over the talented Kansas Cagerz on Memorial Day, ending a three-game overall losing streak and a four-game streak against Kansas. Gary turned in one of its strongest fourth-quarter performances of the year, scoring 35 points to secure a 103-97 victory.

Forward Jamario Moon bounced back from previous sub par games against Kansas with a game-high 23-point effort. He also grabbed five rebounds, handed out five assists and picked up four steals. Guard Louis White added 20 points, plus five more rebounds to the winning effort. Center Chris Alexander hit 6-of-8 shots from the field for 12 points. He also contributed four rebounds and three steals.

With the victory, the Steelheads improved to 11-7 on the season. That ties Gary for second place in the USBL's Midwest Division.

In their previous meeting, the Steelheads defeated Oklahoma at the Genesis Center on May 18th, 101-92. Moon and guard Carl Edwards tied for scoring honors with 22 points. Gary held Oklahoma to .398 shooting from the field. Anthony Terrell paced the Storm with 27 points.
