
Steelheads host first place Dakota on Friday

GARY, Ind. (January 22, 2004) â The Steelheads return home on Friday to host the league-leading Dakota Wizards at the Genesis Convention Center. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Friday is also "NIPSCO Night" and "Teddy Bear Donation Night." Just say "NIPSCO: at the box office and they can purchase an upper level general admission seat for just $1. Fans can donate a teddy bear, which will be given to children in the special units at The Methodist Hospitals Northlake and Southlake campuses.
The Steelheads are 15-13 and are in fourth place in the Continental Basketball Association. They are averaging 3.6 quarter points per game. Standing are determined by quarter-point average. Four Steelheads â Jemeil Rich, Shelly Clark, Immanuel McElroy and Galen Young â participated in the 20th CBA All-Star Game on Tuesday night.
"This is the stretch run as we make a push for the playoffs," Steelheads Head Coach Duane Ticknor said. "With our win last Saturday, we have some momentum going into the second half of the season and look to build on that."
Fans are encouraged to come early, so as to avoid long lines at the box office. Tickets are subject to availability and are sold on a first come-first serve basis.
