Gary, IN: In a mirror image of their first game in Idaho, the Steelheads were defeated by the Yakima Sun Kings 134-110. The Steelheads failed to win a quarter point in the loss, and were shut out for the first time this season.
The Sun Kings jumped out to a 34-25 first quarter lead and never looked back. The Steelheads managed to get within seven on several occasions, but the Sun Kings wera able to pull out all four quarter points in the victory. The Sun Kings shot a season high 60.5% from the field in the win.
Leading the way for the Steelheads was Ray Young who had 23 points. Jemeil Rich had his ninth consecutive double double, a league high, with 22 points and 11 assists. Lonnie Jones pulled down a Steelheads season high 18 rebounds to go along with his 12 points in the loss.
The Steelheads take on the Sun Kings tomorrow in Yakima, for the second consecutive night. The Steelheads return to the Genesis Convention Center on Friday, December 17th as they take on the Michigan Mayhem. Any fan who donates an unwrapped toy at the December 17th game will receive a free ticket to the December 31st contest against the Mayhem.
