
Steel Face off against the Magicians

After their trip to Alaska, the Steel are back for another road game. Tonight, they will take on the Minnesota Magicians for the first time this season.
Following an 0-2 weekend series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, the Steel now hold a 3-8 record. Last Friday night they lost 2-5 and Saturday night they fell 3-4 in overtime. Despite the loss, the goals that they had come from Connor Szmul, Killian Kiecker-Olson, Tomas Vochozka, Camden Thiesing, and Fillip Dusek. Thiesing is still leading the team with 8 points overall, 5 goals, and 3 assists. Connor Szmul is just behind with 6 points, 4 goals, and 2 assists.
With a record of 7-3, the Magicians hold 2nd place in the Midwest Division. Forward Cameron Buhl leads the Magicians with a total of 13 points, 3 goals, and 10 assists. Forward Matthew Stanton follows with 12 points, 6 goals, and 6 assists. The team currently has 5 Division 1 college commits, including a commit to the University of Minnesota. At the end of September, the Magicians came up short against Fairbanks as well. Last weekend they defeated the Springfield Blues in their weekend series at home.
The Steel will take on the Magicians in Richfield, MN on tonight before heading home for a home weekend series. Friday night is $2 beer night at Chippewa Area Ice Arena, presented by Miller Lite.
