March 15, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Jose Stealth News Release
SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth forward Jeff Zywicki was chosen as the National Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. The NLL Rookie of the Week Award is determined by a vote of the general managers and head coaches of the league's 11 member clubs
Zywicki earned the award after posting three goals and two assists on March 11 against Edmonton. He previously won the award in his first professional lacrosse game on January 6, also against Edmonton. Zywicki was a first-round draft pick (eighth overall) by the Stealth in last year's NLL Entry Draft.
Stealth General Manager Johnny Mouradian has been thrilled by the play of Zywicki all season.
"Jeff has had a very strong rookie season and has helped drive our offense," Mouradian said. "Jeff, along with other first round draft picks from last year, have been making an impact with their teams and it is good for the league."
Zywicki will be back in action this Saturday as the Stealth take on the Calgary Roughnecks at the HP Pavilion at San Jose at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Tickemaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations, by calling 409-999-5700, 408-998-TIXS, 510-625-TIXS or at the HP Pavilion box office.
