Stealth To Face Colorado Mammoth In First Round Of Playoffs Saturday

San Jose Stealth News Release


(San Jose, CA, April 17, 2007) --- After their thrilling 11-10 victory over the Colorado Mammoth on April 13, the San Jose Stealth will begin the Champions Cup Playoffs with a rematch against the defending NLL Champion Mammoth in the Western Conference Semifinals at the Pepsi Center on Saturday, April 21 at 6:00 p.m. PST.

This is the second playoff appearance for the Stealth, who are the fourth seed in the Western Division. San Jose's last playoff appearance was during their inaugural season on April 18, 2004 when they fell to the Calgary Roughnecks, 15-14, in the Western Conference Semifinals at HP Pavilion. Calgary went on to win the 2004 Champions Cup.

San Jose maintained a 1-1 record against the top-seeded Mammoth this season. After falling to Colorado, 13-12, on April 12, the Stealth returned to San Jose and battled back from a four-goal first quarter deficit to overtake the Mammoth, 11-10, in front of their home crowd on Fan Appreciation Night. The Stealth were paced by Luke Wiles (3G, 4A), who also notched a franchise record-tying 10 points (4G, 6A) the night before.
