
Stealth Sign Two All Stars

PLEASANTON, CA - Already known as two of the top professional lacrosse players in the World, Colin Doyle and Jeff Zywicki have just become "do it all" players for the San Jose Stealth (www.sjstealth.com) by signing a one-year contracts, it was announced today.
Doyle and Zywicki have established themselves as two of the National Lacrosse League's most prolific offensive players. In addition to leading the offense, the Stealth's dynamic duo will play an active role in growing the sport throughout the Bay Area as volunteer coaches at various youth programs and clinics. They have already scheduled close to 80 appearances in the community.
"Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the country and with Colin and Jeff we have two of the best players in the world who are helping expand the sport in the Bay Area," Stealth President/General Manager Johnny Mouradian said. "Both Colin and Jeff are great teachers and will spend a lot of time working with kids. They are vital to our success as a team and we excited about their commitment to the community."
The Stealth operates three primary grassroots initiatives - Sticks2Schools, Sharpen Your Stick Skills Clinics and the guest-coaching program. The Sticks Skills Clinics will be for offensive players and all drills will focus on raising the players' sticks to the next level. The Stealth's Sticks2Schools Program provides soft lacrosse curriculum for physical education classes in middle schools and high schools throughout the Bay Area.
As volunteer coaches, Doyle and Zywicki will attend local youth team practices and work one on one with the offensive players to share their technique on passing, catching, shooting and cradling.
In 2007, Doyle and Zywicki proved to be one of the top scoring tandems in the league. Doyle finished with 22 goals and 59 assists for 81 points, second most on the team. His 59 assists ranked fourth in the league. Zywicki recorded 40 goals and 30 assists for 70 points.
Doyle, an 11-year veteran, has registered at least 80 points in six consecutive seasons. He came to the Stealth via trade from Toronto in 2007 and promptly added championship experience and leadership to the roster. The Kitchener, Ontario native earned NLL MVP honors after scoring a career-best 111 points in 2005. He claimed an unprecedented three NLL Playoff MVP awards in 1999, 2002 and 2005 and helped the Toronto Rock win five league championships (1999, 2000, '02, '03, '05).
Zywicki was drafted by the Stealth from the University of Massachusetts in 2006 and earned All Rookie Team honors after posting 27 goals and 21 assists for 48 points. Earlier that same year, he helped lead the Canadian National Team to the 2006 World Lacrosse Championship with a 15-10 victory over the United States. Zywicki was named Best Attackman and earned a spot on the All World Team after scoring 28 goals in eight games.
