Stealth Forward Ryan Boyle Earns Midweek Award

SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth forward Ryan Boyle was chosen as the National Lacrosse League's Rookie Of The Week for the fourth week of the season. The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the general managers and head coaches of the league's 10 member clubs.
In two games against Arizona and Minnesota, Boyle scored nine points (six goals and three assists) and also snatched eight loose balls. He posted the game-winning goal in San Jose's 14-13 win on Jan. 21 in Arizona.
In his first week in the NLL, Boyle earned Rookie of the Week honors after posting nine points (three goals and six assists) in two games against Calgary. This week, Boyle earned his second honor after netting two hat tricks over the weekend.
"I've been progressing every game," Boyle said. "I'd be lying if I didn't say I made a mistake every game, so there's still room for improvement. I'm happy with at least putting up some numbers and helping the team win some games."
Stealth General Manager and Head Coach Johnny Mouradian is very pleased with Boyle's performance this season.
"It's nice when you have a young rookie like Boyle contributing as much as he has thus far in the season," Mouradian said.
Boyle is tied with NLL legends John Tavares and Gary Gait with 18 points (nine goals and nine assists). Not bad company for the rookie forward out of Princeton.
