Stealth Fall To Calgary, 12-10

Calgary - The San Jose Stealth (5-7) lost to a first place team for the second time in two nights when they fell to the Calgary Roughnecks (8-5) by a score of 12-10.

The Stealth were in Calgary a night after losing to the Buffalo Bandits in San Jose.

Brandon Miller started in net for the fourth time this season for the Stealth. He had a strong game, recording 40 saves against a Calgary team that sits atop the Western Division two and a half games ahead of San Jose.

The Stealth started the scoring in the first quarter with two consecutive goals by Kevin Fines and Luke Wiles. They held the two goal advantage for five minutes until the Roughnecks scored three unanswered goals to finish up the quarter with a 3-2 lead.

The second quarter featured more back and forth between the teams as each club scored two goals in the frame. As the game entered halftime the hometown Roughnecks were ahead of the division rival Stealth 5-4.

Tracey Kelusky set the tone for in the second half for Calgary by scoring two goals in the third quarter and finishing the game with seven points (three goals, four assists). Trailing 8-5 in the third quarter, the Stealth forward Kevin Fines scored his second goal of the night right before Chad Thompson scored to put San Jose within one. However, Kevin Dostie took over the game just 1:23 into the final quarter, scoring his first of three in the frame to put an end to San Jose's comeback bid.

Cam Sedgwick and Luke Wiles paced the Stealth with four points in the losing effort.
