High Stakes

Tonight's matchup offers added excitement and interest, as first place in the Western Division is on the line. With its impressive, 5-2 record the Mammoth leads the Western division. The Stealth is a game behind Colorado with an equally impressive 4-3 record, as they come off a two game win streak. Meanwhile the Mammoth, who started a red hot 5-0, are riding a two game losing streak.

Impressive on the Road

The Stealth has won their past two road decisions, most recently in Edmonton two weeks ago, 11-8. For the season, the Stealth has produced a 3-1 record in unfriendly territory. The Mammoth lost their last home decision against Eastern Division leader Philadelphia, 15-13, on 2/15.

Rookie Mix

With every passing game, the Stealth rookies look better. Frank Resetarits, San Jose's top pick in this past summer's draft, continued to shine. Against the Rush Resetarits picked up three points (two assists and one goal). Resetaris is currently fifth on the team with six goals and four assists (10 points). Steve Panarelli has been strong on defense for the Stealth, scooping up 24 loose balls this season. Panarelli and Tom Johnson recorded their first NLL goals against the earlier this season against the Mammoth on 1/26.

The Z Power

Forward Jeff Zywicki is among the top scorers in the NLL in various scoring categories. Zywicki is currently tied for third in goals (24) and fifth in Points (43) through seven games.

Lending a Helping Hand

In six games this season, Colin Doyle has recorded 14 goals, but has assists on 26 goals (40 points total), placing him tied for fourth in the NLL. Doyle led the Stealth to their latest victory against the Rush where he racked up six points (four goals, two assists).

Career Milestones

Colin Doyle came to San Jose with an impressive resume in 2007 and continues to add to his achievements. The 10-year veteran is having a milestone 2008. Earlier this season he broke 350 goals (362 to date), 500 assists (513 to date) and is 25 points away from breaking 900 points (875 to date). Doyle currently holds the third place position in all-time points (fourth in assists, seventh in goals).

Wiles

Last season's point leader, forward Luke Wiles is not far behind Jeff Zywicki and Colin Doyle. In seven games, Wiles stands third on the team with 35 points (13 goals and 22 assists). Last week, Wiles added two goals to his season total (13) against Edmonton (2/23). Earlier in the season Wiles scored the game winning goal at Calgary (1/12) 47 seconds into the extra period. This was Wiles' second OT winning goal in Calgary. Last season, Wiles also scored the game winner in OT there.

Coaching Staff

Walt Christianson enters his third season at the helm of the San Jose Stealth. Christianson brought his defensive-minded approach and transformed the Stealth into a young, aggressive team and nearly led them to the NLL Championship game. In 2007, San Jose posted a 9-7 regular season mark, qualified for the post season for the first time since 2005 and advanced to the Western Conference Finals where they dropped a 9-7 heart-breaker to the Arizona Sting. Joining Christianson as assistant coach is Art Webster, also in his third season.

Season Branding Campaign

The San Jose Stealth is introducing its new branding campaign, "Think Fast" for the 2008 National Lacrosse League season. The San Jose Stealth brand is fast-paced, hard-hitting, action-packed, family entertainment. In choosing Think Fast as the season branding campaign the Stealth are further promoting the growth and success of the sport.

Think Fast brings the fastest game on two feet to life. The campaign speaks to the precision, speed and agility required to play the game. Think Fast appeals to the mind-set and persona of the tech-savvy, cultured consumer base of the greater San Jose area. As a campaign, Think Fast is simple, strong, and direct, complimenting the sleek and sharp character of the San Jose Stealth.

The new campaign mark for Think Fast is made up of the campaign word mark and subtle silhouetted game elements, which combine to support the San Jose Stealth team logo. The campaign word mark Think Fast is written in a clean serif type font and is housed by a classic retaining shape, which allows for flexibility. The fresh and unique silhouetted elements connect the campaign back to the San Jose Stealth logo.
